This sculpture masterfully combines the elegance of a statement piece - the swan - with the intricate mechanics of a rolling ball sculpture (RBS).

Inspired by an impulse buy, I set out to create a manually loaded, semi-automatic, egg-laying swan.

The balls are sizeable, so I used primarily 2 mm copper wire to ensure the frame is strong enough to handle the weight and forces at play.

I’m thrilled with how this sculpture turned out, and you can see it in motion in the videos below.
